How to Draw a Pin in 8 Easy Steps (for Kids)

You might think that there is no such thing as a perfect push pin, but you would be wrong. The pin must first be usable; it must be of good quality, have a fine sharp tip, and have a securely connected head that won’t pop out with the slightest pressure. But the ideal push pin should make you grin more than those banal particulars.

It ought to make your noticeboard more something cheerful to do when you’re pinning up notes for your banjaxed story or rejection letters for your most masterpiece. 

How to Draw a Pin

Simple steps in drawing a cute pin.

Materials

  • Paper
  • Pencil
  • Coloring material

Instructions

Step 1: Draw the Top and Bottom Holder

Begin drawing your push pin by drawing the top and bottom of the holder. On the top, draw a thin horizontal rectangular shape. Then at the bottom Draw a thick horizontal rectangular shape. This rectangular must be bigger than the first one.  

Step 2: Add the middle part

Add the body of the pin.

For the middle part of the push pin, draw a slanting line from the rectangular at the top going to the rectangular at the bottom. Same on the other side draw a slanting line from the top going to the bottom part of the big rectangle.

Step 3: Add Details

Now to make the holder of the push pin round, on the edge of the rectangle draw a small, curved line to it. Make sure to draw it from one side to the opposite side of the rectangle. 

Step 4: Remove Extra Lines

Now that we are done putting the edges with the round, let’s erase the edges of each rectangle. Make sure that result must be the same as given above. You can fix it if it’s not yet perfect. You can also copy the reference image above. 

Step 5: Draw the Eye Guide for the Left Needle

Draw the eye guide on the top of the big horizontal rectangle above. These two-eye guides will overlap with the holder of the push pin. Then below the holder on the left side, draw a slanting line going downward.   

Step 6: Complete the Needle

To complete the needle, draw another slanting line below the holder. Make sure that this slanting line will meet the other slanting line in the middle. This will help the paper in the reminder and all the important papers on it. 

Step 7: Complete the Eyes and the Mouth

Let’s complete the eyes of the push pin by adding eyeballs to it. We do this by drawing a shaded crescent moon shape inside each eye guide. Then under the eyes, draw a big letter C facing upward. This will serve as the mouth of the push pin. 

Step 8: Finish up!
