We are always going hiking or taking road trips, and it’s also the time of year when we learn about the US States and territories. Planet Earth Coloring Page
The Planet Earth coloring pages are useful when I’m teaching my child about where places are located around the planet. I enjoy printing out these coloring sheets with the Earth and continents mapped out. It is a great way for me to learn about distances between countries I have not been to yet. Choosing the right greens, blues, and browns to use for coloring the different continents is so much fun as an artist.
It also helps to throw on any color I want sometimes when doing an abstract planet Earth coloring project. Rather than a big round globe that is hard to manage and rather expensive to buy, I prefer having the use of unlimited printable planet Earth coloring pages.
Space Coloring Pages
The space coloring pages compliment the Earth coloring pages by adding a galactic element to this collection. Whenever I’m talking about Earth, it helps to put the planet into context with the rest of the galaxy. Remembering that Earth is just one planet of many, and what color Earth is compared to the rest of them, is a great practice in science for all ages. Pluto, Mars, the Moon, the Sun–all of these and the Milky Way as a whole are super fun to illustrate on paper.
I recommend printing out a set of images of the Milky Way Galaxy and each of the planets. Including the planets with their rings and/or moons, and laminating the finished artwork is a great tip here. Perfectly protected coloring pages serve as an educational tool for any household.
Alien Coloring Pages for Humans
Here is a super fun coloring page idea! If you are looking for a science-fiction treat, search for alien coloring pages for humans. Imagine what a space alien looks like, or would look like if aliens on other planets in our galaxy were real–depending on how one feels about these things!
Thinking about what lifeforms on other planets look like compared to humans on Earth is also fun. Would people here look like aliens on Mercury or Jupiter, and would they also be called people?
Printable Picture of Earth
Great to have around the house, a printable picture of Earth can serve as smart looking decor. I took a round picture of Earth, I printed out and colored it, and then laminated it. This worked wonderfully for hanging up on the refrigerator as an added touch during the lunar eclipse party we had one year! I like to stick stickers on a printable picture of Earth to indicate places I have traveled, or would love to visit one day.
Another idea would be to use a printable picture of Earth to color in alternative color palettes for more modern works of art. Add these to a frame, and voila! Instant wall art with pizzazz and for not a lot of money–yet with a whole lot of personality.
