Lettering styles
The word is drawn a different way on almost every page: fat block capitals, thin script, letters stacked down the sheet one per line, letters spread across a diamond frame, letters made of dots and dashes to trace. If a child is practising letterforms, printing four of these gives four genuinely different alphabets to copy.
What surrounds the word
Each sheet frames the lettering with something seasonal: apples and pears, daisies in rows, an ice cream and a sandwich, umbrellas, palm trees and balloons, a coconut drink with flip-flops, mushrooms and small flowers, a kite in an open sky, a wreath of blossom. Two pages use characters instead — a cat and a lion, and a bow-wearing kitten.
The two scene pages
Two sheets break the pattern: a child reading on a beanbag with the letters floating around them, and a child on the sand with a bucket and spade while the letters drift past. They are the only pages here where the word is not the main subject, and the easiest of the set for a young child.
How to print these
Every page is US Letter (8.5 × 11 in), pure black and white, with the drawing inside the printable margin. Plain copy paper is fine; choose “Fit to page” if your printer asks. If a sheet is going on a wall or into a journal, print it on slightly heavier paper — the hollow letters take marker well, and marker bleeds through copy paper.
