Cartoon arks full of animals
Twelve pages fill the boat: giraffes with their heads over the rail, elephants, lions, zebras, monkeys swinging from the roof, mice at the window. Thick outlines, round friendly faces, and a rainbow arching over several of them. This is the group to print for ages 3 to 7 — the animals are drawn large enough that a child can pick out and name each one before coloring it.
Noah in the story
Six pages centre on the man rather than the boat: hammering planks with the frame half-built behind him, standing with a staff as the animals file past, kneeling in prayer, holding a lamb, releasing the dove and taking back the olive leaf. These carry more line detail in the robe and the beard, so they suit slightly older children.
The ark alone
Four pages leave the animals out: the finished hull under a plain sun, the boat crossing open water with ducks alongside, the ark pitched over in heavy waves, and the ark aground with a lamb in the grass. The wave page is the most striking of the four and the only page here with any drama in it.
