I draw the icons in plain outline at a heavy stroke weight rather than in detailed line art, because these pages are meant to be carried around, folded, and leaned on a knee — thin decorative lines disappear at that size and on a home printer. Each row sits in its own rounded box with the checkbox at the far right edge, always in the same spot, so a child marks off in one predictable place instead of hunting for the box. The check boxes are drawn large on purpose: they are meant to be filled by a child’s marker or crayon, not a fine pen.
Two deliberate limits. The color hunt uses a circle to color rather than a colored swatch, because these pages are drawn for a black-and-white printer — a printed gray blob would tell a child nothing about which color to look for, but an empty circle plus the word works either way. And the alphabet hunt keeps a write-in line instead of pre-printed answers, because the point is for the child to decide what “X” is going to be.
How to print these
Every page is US Letter (8.5 × 11 in), pure black and white, with all rows and text inside a 0.5 in margin, so nothing is cut off by a printer’s unprintable edge.
