Free LADYBUGS Coloring Pages & Book for Download (Printable PDF)

It’s a bug’s world with these printable ladybug coloring pages. Children, in particular, tend to have a keen fascination with the outside world and the tiny creatures that live in its nooks and crannies. I asked my five-year-old grandson why he was so obsessed with bugs, and he said he just likes to know what they get up to in their small world. His mother doesn’t always allow him to get his hands dirty, but he doesn’t have to when I print out these ladybug coloring pages! They are pretty detailed, and he’s just as interested in what the ladybugs get up to on paper. I like that they keep him entertained for long periods of time.

Welcome to our collection of free LADYBUGS coloring pages. Click the Ladybug pictures or illustrations you like and you’ll be taken to the PDF download and/or print page. Every Ladybug coloring page is a printable PDF and/or can be downloaded.

Loving the Ladybugs

When introducing these ladybugs coloring pages to your kid, you can also rock their world by telling them some fantastic facts about ladybugs. First off, ladybugs are technically not bugs – they are some kind of beetle, which is why they are sometimes referred to as lady beetles or ladybird beetles.

Female ladybugs are bigger than male ladybugs. This is not surprising since they can eat over 75 aphids per day. They also enjoy the occasional spider mite and mealybug. In turn, ladybugs can be eaten by birds, frogs, spiders, and other predators. Although the reason why ladybugs are so brightly colored is to warn away predators, this doesn’t always work.

While it’s true that ladybugs and their other bug counterparts sometimes don’t always get the love they deserve, it’s possible for people to change their perspective. The truth is, every insect and bug in the world has an important role in the ecosystem. In this instance, ladybugs help to get rid of many plant pests for us.

Ladybugs are so interesting that they even inspired an animated TV show called Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. Ladybug and Cat Noir are two superheroes that work together to defend the city of Paris from villains.

Cute Ladybugs Coloring Pages

Each printable ladybug coloring page contains a beautiful image that will help you and your child view these tiny creatures in a better light. Fortunately, ladybugs aren’t hard to love because of their bright colors and cute, shiny, and round appearance.

Although most people are familiar with the red ladybugs, some species have yellow or orange wings with black dots or stripes. The rarer species even have yellow or pink wings, which makes for a pretty unique look.

The common seven-spotted ladybugs also have a black head with white markings on the side. So, your child will have several color options to choose from to create different polka dot effects. Each ladybug coloring sheet comes with a cute insect and a detailed background scene that will inspire a lot of color creativity.
