Decades of Transformers
The Transformers series started in 1984, but it is still one of the most famous film franchises, cartoons, and comics to date. The series’ creators have found a way to continue to appeal to new audiences and rising generations. While the original series ran from 1984 to 1993, there have been multiple reboots and live-action adaptations.
The live-action Transformers film franchise has grossed billions of dollars worldwide, and it provided a whole new realistic look at the fabled characters. In 2007, the first live-action film Transformerswas released. Michael Bay directed the project, and it touted stars such as Shia Labeouf, Megan Fox, Tyrese Gibson, and Josh Duhamel. The film was an overwhelming success, and now there have been five more live-action films.
The fantastic special effects are what fans have loved about these live-action films that bring beloved cartoon and comic characters to life. The films have been nominated for multiple awards for special effects, sound editing, and cinematography.
The Autobots
Most everyone who interacts with the Transformers eventually picks a favorite character. Chances are, your child has a favorite Transformer as well. In the world of Transformers, the good guys are known as Autobots. The Autobots are noble and side with the humans to combat the evil Decepticons. But, some of the Autobots are better known than others.
Perhaps the Autobots’ most popular and most potent leader is Optimus Prime. Optimus is an unequaled warrior and wise leader. He rumbles down the road in disguise as a big blue and purple rig with flame decals. The Decepticons
Every successful media franchise needs a good villain, and Transformers has some great bad guys. The leader of the opposition is Megatron, the chief amongst the Decepticons. Megatron is an imposing character that originally transformed not into a vehicle but a giant handgun. Megatron acts as the chief rival to Optimus Prime and has been the main antagonist to the heroes in the series for decades. Another popular Decepticon is Megatron’s right-hand man, Starscream. He travels the globe disguised as a jet and often swoops in at the worst moment to battle the Autobots.
