Haunted houses are one of the more popular categories for free coloring sheet downloads.  You can find thousands online at any given time, including some of the best right here. I share my favorites to help you get your boo on whether it’s July or October.

Spooky Coloring Fun

You can use a lot more color than you might think when working with a haunted house coloring sheet. It’s true there are many black cats, black skies, and witches dressed all in black while standing over black cauldrons.

You may also create the glow of orange in the window of that spooky house after dark. What about the glow of the full moon over that creepy haunted house or the pretty flowers planted by the doorway? There is always an opportunity to add some color, making your haunted house coloring experience more enjoyable.

What Makes Haunted House Coloring Pages So Fun?

I enjoy coloring haunted house scenes because they mix adorable characters with spooky ideas. There are cute ghosts that remind me of Casper standing behind tall trees that reach into the black sky like bony fingers. Creepy witches with stringy hair and warts on their noses may stand by a gravestone that gives the scene some charm.

Werewolves, witches, owls, and bats often make an appearance in popular haunted house coloring pages as well. These characters remind me of Halloween cartoons and some of my favorite spooky movies. Yet, coloring pages are suitable for children and adults of all ages. Anyone can get in on the fun, including those who don’t appreciate scary movies or real haunted houses.

Haunted House Coloring Sheets for Halloween Celebrations

Are you holding a Halloween party or planning another event for the little ghosts and gremlins in your life? Maybe you’re planning a school Halloween party or neighborhood trick-or-treat. I recommend printing out free haunted house coloring pages and using them to give guests of all ages a fun activity to enjoy. Even adults often enjoy scribbling a quick coloring sheet with their children between tricks or treats.

You can also fold printed haunted house coloring sheets and place them in trick or treat bags with small packs of crayons. It’s an affordable Halloween treat that many parents will appreciate. If you live in a neighborhood with plenty of candy flowing into the bags and pumpkin-shaped buckets, you don’t have to give the same sweet treats as everyone else.

Coloring sheets are a fun activity to enjoy while eating that Halloween candy. Even if you don’t hand out coloring sheets, print some out and enjoy them with your little ones as they dig through their Halloween treat bags. They’ll have so much fun coloring that they just might slow down on the sugar a bit.
