The twelve standalone gowns are the useful heart of this set. Each one is drawn as a fashion plate — the dress alone, no body inside it — with the bodice, waist seam, skirt panels and any beading picked out separately. That is what makes them work as a design exercise: a child can invent a color scheme without having to also color a face and hair, and the same silhouette can be printed twice and finished two different ways.

Twelve gowns, no figure
Twelve pages centre one dress on the sheet: a tiered ball gown with three ruffled layers, a strapless column with a slit, a full skirt scattered with daisies, a fitted bodice above a bell skirt, a polka-dot day dress with a belt. The background is always a light pattern — stars, circles, snowflakes, stripes — which frames the dress without competing with it.
Wardrobe sheets and the sewing scene
Three pages hang several outfits together on a rail or on hangers: coats and jackets on one, a nightdress and two party dresses on another. They are the pages to print if you want to cut the clothes out — each garment has white space around it. One more page shows two figures making a dress, with a reel of thread, scissors and a pincushion drawn beside them.
Dresses on figures
Four pages put the gown on someone: a woman spinning so the skirt lifts, a figure in a long dress in front of a castle, one adjusting a dress on a stand, one mid-curtsey. These carry hair and faces as well as fabric, so they take longer and suit an older child.
How to print these
Every page is US Letter (8.5 × 11 in), pure black and white, with the drawing inside the printable margin. Plain copy paper is fine; choose “Fit to page” if your printer asks. If you plan to cut the outfits out of the wardrobe sheets, print on card — the hangers and thin straps tear easily on copy paper.
