22 Free Coyote Coloring Pages (Printable PDF)

This collection has 22 free coyote coloring pages: eleven of the animal walking or standing in open country, six howling, four near buildings or a road, and one sitting portrait. Every page is black and white on US Letter, downloads as a free PDF, and needs no signup.

The howling pages are the ones people come for, and they share a useful shape: the animal in profile with its head tipped back, a full moon behind it, and a low horizon of rock or cactus. That silhouette is almost entirely one large closed area — a child can fill the body in a single tone and then spend the time on the sky. One page even letters the word COYOTE in capitals with Coyote in lower case beneath it, which turns it into a word-recognition sheet as well as a picture.

Howling at the moon

Six pages catch the classic pose: on a ridge under a full moon, among saguaro cactus, on a rock with stars overhead, at the mouth of a canyon. One shows a mother howling with three pups tumbling at her feet — the only page here with young animals, and the softest of the six.

In open country

Eleven pages follow the animal across the landscape: trotting along a dry riverbed, crossing a prairie under scattered clouds, picking through scrub, standing in long grass with a low sun behind. Several of these draw the fur properly — layered tufts along the back and tail — which makes them the slowest and most rewarding pages in the set.

Close to people

Four pages bring in something built: a log cabin with the coyote in front of it, a row of houses with sunflowers, a fence line with palms and a gate, and one standing beside an abandoned bus. They give the set a sense of place that a plain animal page cannot.

How to print these

Every page is US Letter (8.5 × 11 in), pure black and white, with the drawing inside the printable margin. Plain copy paper is fine; choose “Fit to page” if your printer asks. The fur detail on the realistic pages is drawn with fine short strokes — print those at normal or best quality or the coat turns into a grey mass.

FAQ

Are there howling coyote pages?

Six of them, all in profile with the head tipped back — under a full moon, among cactus, and on a ridge with stars.

Is there a page with pups?

One: a mother howling with three pups around her feet.

Which page suits a younger child?

The howling silhouettes. The body is one big shape and the sky behind it is empty, so a page fills quickly.

Do I need a color printer?

No. Every page prints in black and white; the color comes from your pencils or crayons.

For more wild animals, the panther coloring pages put the same kind of outline into jungle scenes, and the animals and nature collection holds the rest of the free sets in this silo.
