The World of Spider Man: Origins, Adventures, and Creative Fun

1.Spider Man’s Origin and Popularity

Spider Man was born out of a collaboration between writer and editor Stan Lee and his friend, artist Steve Ditko, who is also a writer. The amazing Spider-Man made his first appearance in an Amazing Fantasy, an anthology comic book, in August of 1962, so he has been around for a very long time. The anthology was published by Silver Age of Comic Books. He then went on to be one of the main superheroes in comic books that are published by Marvel Comic Books and has been the subject of a variety of movies, TV shows, and even video games over the 59 years since he was first created. Most of the movies and other Spider Man merchandise are now part of the Marvel Universe.

2.Peter Parker’s Story

In the stories that have been written and portrayed about Spider Man, he sometimes goes by his alias of Peter Parker and in the first comic book series, he was referred to as simply Spidey instead of Spider Man. Peter Parker’s parents died in a plane crash so he went to live with his Aunt May and Uncle Ben in New York City, also known as the Big Apple. He grows up to begin working at a newspaper where he meets his love interest, reporter Lois Lane. She does not realize, at first, that he has amazing superhero capabilities that he acquired after being bitten by a radioactive spider and can cling to surfaces, allowing him to scale up the side of skyscrapers, spin a spider web, and has super-human strength. He can even detect when danger is nearby with his “spider-sense,” which he works to save humanity from through tons of different scenarios, many of which are portrayed in our Spider-Man coloring pages.
