With a lifespan of 20 to 30 years, the horse, whose species name is Equus ferus caballus, is a domesticated one-toed hoofed mammal that has evolved over the last several centuries into the amazing animal it is today.
When it comes to horse breeds, they are loosely divided into three different types based on their overall temperament. These categories include the spirited hot blood horses that have lots of speed an incredible amount of endurance, cold bloods which include draft horses and some ponies that are suitable for slower, more heavy work, and warmbloods that are developed when breeding a hot blood horse with a cold blood horse for specific riding purposes.
All horses boast an amazing and beautiful coat and each breed is special in its own way.
I have wanted a horse of my own since I was a little girl and even though I am now in my fifties, I still do not own one but my eight-year-old granddaughter is much more determined than I ever was to have one of her own. I hope it happens for her and I will try to make it happen but in the meantime, we both enjoy horses coloring pages.
Girls love ponies but boys do too. Both of my grandsons also love horses, from the beautiful Arabian horse to quarter horses, they enjoy their majestic appearance as much as everyone else seems to. My three-year-old grandson may still be a little boy but he has already learned how to saddle and ride a horse through the open fields of the local stable that offers horseback riding lessons. The kids have even been able to observe a foal being born which will be ingrained in their memories forever and was such a great experience for them.
While many kids wish for a pet rabbit, dog, cat, or fantasize about owning a dragon, many just want to have a little horse with a long, flowing mane to call their own.
A free horse coloring page can help anyone who wants to own one of these gorgeous creatures to learn more about them and to use the free coloring pages as a way to express themselves. Whether you are a kid or an adult, you will enjoy coloring pictures of these horses.
The horse coloring sheet includes a horse in a field, one in which the horse head really stands out, and even one in front of a magic castle.
