I never owned a hamster growing up. Some of my friends did, and I always thought that while it may not be the most engaging pet, they make up for it with cuteness. While it is still considered a rodent, I find hamsters preferable to pet mice or rats. And, from what I have seen, these little critters are content to be held and loved. So, if you have a child that is a hamster lover, then take a look at our collection of hamster coloring pages. Some Interesting Hamster Facts

Hamsters are genuinely remarkable little creatures. While their lifespans are relatively short, they can bring a lot of love and happiness into a home. Interestingly, hamsters rely very little on their eyesight but trust more in hearing and smell. So, your pet hamster knows you more for how you sound and smell rather than how you look. Hamsters are intelligent enough even to understand their name and can even learn to come when called. Like beavers, a hamster’s teeth never stop growing, so they must have plenty to chew on. Also, they can store food in pouches in their cheeks like chipmunks. So, their little heads may look much bigger at times due to their mouths being full of stored food. These cute little rodents are adorable pets that actually enjoy being cuddled. These are just a few of the many reasons people love hamsters.

One good thing for hamsters and something that they love to do is to play with toys. Hamsters are fun-loving little animals, and they benefit significantly from having stimulating toys for them to play with. Several of the coloring sheets in our collection showcase this playful side of the little furballs. Your kids will love coloring pictures of hamsters at play. In some of the pictures, the hamsters are depicted alone with a toy, or in others, multiple hamsters are playing together. In either case, the pictures are a fun way for children to practice some creativity as they color hamsters playing.

The other fun activity for hamsters is eating. Many coloring pages will feature the hamsters in their habitat with food. Whether it is some corn, hamster treats, or some fruit, images of the little animals around food, are not only fun but accurate. And, don’t forget that this little animal has pouches in its cheeks like chipmunks. You may even encounter a drawing of some very round-faced hamsters with cheeks full of food. These will appeal to children simply because the rounder the face, the cuter the hamster.
