Why Are Zombies so Popular?
Zombies aren’t just for Halloween. When it comes to pop culture monsters, zombies are in a league of their own. Vampires, werewolves, and even Frankenstein can cause some havoc, but they don’t fundamentally change the world as we know it.
Zombies, however, bring on an apocalypse. Their contagious nature and insatiable hunger cause a collapse of society, with the survivors struggling not to become zombies as well.
It’s easy to see why zombies are currently so popular. Our world is changing quickly, and there’s a lot of uncertainty about what the future will look like.
Types of Zombies
There are actually over 350 types of zombies. However, they can be categorized into a few basic types.
Medical Zombies
Medical zombies are the most common type today. It’s no surprise, virus fears have plagued us for years, even before the pandemic.
Medical zombies may be reanimated corpses, or they can go straight from human to zombie. They are zombies because they were infected with a pathogen.
Supernatural Zombies
Supernatural zombies are created with supernatural means. Subgroups include the voodoo zombie, and zombies released from hell. Generally, this type of zombie is created by a God or magician.
Chemical or Radiation Zombie
This type of zombie is created by radiation or chemical exposure. This type can be less scary, because they typically aren’t contagious. However, they can still be evil.
How to Color a Zombie
There are a few ways you can color a zombie. One option is to choose a black background. This will add a sense of danger to the coloring sheet. Pair it with muted colors for a gloomy feel.
You can also color zombies whimsically. This is a great way for your kid to have some zombie fun. Encourage them to choose bright silly colors. This will improve creativity and allow your child to explore while coloring.
